Converter Standalone 4.0.1, Windows 2000 Server, Failed at 95%, FAILED: A general system error occurred: InternalError, Error: Reconfiguration failed

I have a Windows 2000 Server (SP4), it is a Dell PE2500, that I have been trying to convert for a while (started the end of 2008 with Converter 3.0.3).

The server failed at 95% while in the reconfiguring stage (after the Disk conversions). Here is an excerpt from the logs:

InfoAnalyst,

If the resulting virtual machine still exists, can we attach the vmdk files to another running virtual machine?

I want to see what files are listed in the vmdk under \system32\config\ .... it should have your registry files like SYSTEM and others. I want to know if something was left out during conversion or if the files are there.

You can always try to right-click on the VM in vCenter and select "Reconfigure" If that does not work, check the arc path on the boot.ini file. You can attache the VMDK file to a "helper" VM and edit the file.
