Converter Problem

Hi,

I try to convert a W2008 R2 from a vcb Backup to a VM in a vShpere41 environment.

With converter 4.3.0 build 292238 I will get always the error message when selecting the source:

"There's no hardware information for the selected VM".

So I try a W2003 SP2 VM - but I get also the same error message.

With Converter 4.0.1 I was able to convert this VM from a vcb Backup but not the W2008 R2 VM.

So what's wrong with converter 4.0.3.

I also tried the buildin VCenter Converter from 4.1 U1 - same error message.

Can anyone help me?

VCB is out of support.

Latest version of Converter has remove it.

So, the only way is use a previous version.

Ok,

try to use VMware Converter 4.0.1 build-161434 but when I try to convert the W2008 R2 VM I will get the following error message:

"The VMware Consolidated Backup source 'H:\test\ts1\ts1.vmx' has a missing catalog file."

The catalog file is availlable on this folder but

config.file0= "TS1.vmsd"

config.file1= "TS1.vmxf"
are missing. Should I create them and how?

The vmsd is the snapshot "catalog" file. And you can use an empty file.

The vmxf contains a UUID of the VM, but I think that you can put a empty file also for it.
