VM is on a USB disk, attached to the physical machine, converter was installed on target physical machine and converting to the USB disk, firewall of the machine is disabled.

so the redhat is already a VM ? - then there is no need to use converter at all.

you can use datastorebrowser, winscp, fastscp , vmkfstools or whatever to just copy the VM

well - of course that would be nice ... but converter is a free give away and the team that works on it seems to have not many resources.

Also using Converter is no art in itself.

You want to get a task done. If tool A can not do it use tool B.
If you insist on using tool A you only waste your time

Converter Standalone 4.3 can take imports of VMs.

I got the impression that converter will not work for "converting" VMs any longer.

Just wanted to clearify that Converter still can be run for "importing" VMs too.
