Converted VirtualPC no hardware acceleration

Using converter (3.0.2) I converted a MS Virtual PC (Windows 2003 sp1 guest) to run on workstation 6 (XP host). On boot I get no mouse support. Was able to get into settings on the guest and set hardware acceleration to full. Still have no mouse support. I ran a repair on the VMWare tools, several reboots. Could use some advice.

I removed VMWare tools, now I have mouse support

Did you remove Microsoft's Virtual Machine Additions?
