Convert a 'other Linux Machine' to VM

Hi,

I used VMware server to create a other Linux OS as a temp setup and now the requirement is to move the same VM without reconfiguring/recreating into a ESX 3.0.1 environment. I read enough forum discussions and about VMware convertor 3.0 but couldn't find a best way to do this conversion.

Could some one guide on how i can achieve this?

Thanks

Rock

Assuming the virtual disks are SCSI (ESX Server does not support IDE) then you can run Converter from a Windows machine, browse for the VM files, and select ESX Server as your destination for an import.

If that does not work, you can manually copy the VM files using scp to your ESX Server and then run vmkfstools to import your .vmdk files into VMFS format.

Feddback are welcome.
