Conversion of Virtual Server 2005 R2 and Virtual PC 2007 VPCs

Each time I attempt to import any VPCs from Microsoft's MSDN website that are either in Virtual Server 2005 R2 or Virtual PC 2007 format, the import fails at around 99% and thereby leaves the VM in a corrupted and unusable state. Is there official support for Virtual Server 2005 R2 and Virtual PC 2007 formats or is that still forthcoming?

Here is the interoperability section of the release notes for VMware Converter 3.0.1

Some things to consider when doing the conversion:

What is the OS and SP level of the machine you are running converter on?

What is the OS and SP level of the VPC you are converting?

See page 18 of the Converter manual for a compatibility matirx

Are you running converter as the local admin?

What are you selecting as the destination type and location?

Have you been able to do any successful conversions? Of physical servers? Of VPCs?

OS: Windows XP SP2

VPC OS: Windows Server 2003 R2

Yes, I am running the converter as a local administrator.

I am selecting VMWare Workstation 5 and above as the destination type and a local hard drive as the location.

Yes, prior to the new VPC products from Microsoft (Virtual Server 2005 R2 and Virtual PC 2007), I have been able to successfully convert VPC virtual machines. In the past, I have reported similar bugs with VMWare's Importer utility (pre-Converter days) when attempting to convert VPCs as well. This issue seems to have been resolved in VMWare Converter, but no longer seems to support the new Microsoft VPC formats. I have tried several times on several different machines, all with the same result.
