Connect to ESX server and Virtual machine importer?

Using ESX 2.5. When I try to connect to the ESX Server I get a Authentication screen. When I enter my information in I get an error about the name may be misspelled, unavailable or use a port number. Any thoughts? I'm using the root account to connect.

Currently, it is only possible to import to ESX 2.5 if it is managed by VC 2.0.

If the box is managed by VC, give VM Importer the address and credentials of the VC server, and it should provide a list of available ESX hosts which will include your ESX 2.5 box.

Unfortunately, Virtual Machine Importer does not currently interoperate with Virtual Center 1.x.
