Hi All
We are trying to convert a Red hat Linux Enterprise Server version 5.3 and kernel 2.6.18 with converter standalone.
When we apply the remote ip address and root credentials a message pops up saying that either the username or password are incorrect or there is not remote root ssh access.
We have verified with a Linux expert that both cases are not an issue since he verified that everything is ok.
Anybody knows what the problem might be please?
Thanks
George
you remote root ssh need be enable.

As per our Linux Guru he claims that is already enabled.
Any more ideas?
Thanks
If your username and password is correct and SSH is enable with root login enable, you should be able to ssh to it from the box your running the converter on. Try using a ssh client and connect as root to it on that box.
download putty.exe and test from a windows box, or ssh from another Linux box on the network.
If you can't login with root and a provided password, then we're right. If you can, they your guru is right.
Most security hardened systems will have an SSH Server enabled to allow people to login. It is uncommon or "not best practice" to allow root logon directly. You'd typically login with a different account then go to.
There may be a case where we are BOTH right, and TCP Port 22 (SSH Port) is blocked. then the access may be enabled, but we can't access the physical Linux server.

We have logged in with putty as root user succesfully through ssh.
That drives me crazy
