Can you P2V a server with compressed NTFS drive?

Can you P2V a server with compressed NTFS drive? I'm getting the following errors and don't know if this is the cause or not ...

Error: Unable to clone volume 'C:'.

FAILED: An error occurred during the conversion:
'converter.fault.FileIOFault'

Have you tried to resize the disk when converting?

If yes then try to keep the same size which will force a block-level (instead of file-level) cloning.

This might work better.
