Can a VMWare Server XP VM with an IDE drive be converted to ESX?

Jump to solution

Running ESX 3.5 update 3 and VC 2.5 update 3 (Converter plug-in 4.0.2).

I have a couple windows XP VMs running on an old VMWare Server 1.x. I would like to move them to our ESX cluster. However, they were built with IDE drives. Is it possible somehow during the conversion into ESX to switch the drives to SCSI?

thanks

Converter will do this automatically for you.

Make sure you have a backup first, in case anything goes wrong.
