Boot Convertor CD from Floppy?

Does anyone have a way to boot a physical server from a floppy disc in order to launch a cold convert from the CD?

The server I'm trying to virtualize will not complete a warm convert, but is so old, that it won't boot from a CD.

Hi,

you can try the bootable cd loader from or the "smart boot manager" from . If one of them works please let me know because i haven't tried them yet...

I would add ColdClone Boot as a boot.ini option but BCDW should work also

Thanks for the suggestions.

Bootable cd loader hasn't worked so far. It did not see the CD-ROM.

What do you mean by add ColdClone boot as a boot.ini option?

AS you probably know boot.ini is the config-file for the native boot-loader.

If your box has enough RAM (maybe 512 or more) you can add an entry into the boot.ini that then loads a copy of the iso-file into RAM.

Very likely VMware does not document this
