you need to check the vm logs for this machine. it seems it cannot find a snapshot disk . but the logs will tell you what the actual reason is.

confirm that you can browse and find files like the following:

/vmfs/volumes/6315983e-22161b49-730b-78acc0fbc398/TPE1ITA1/TPE1ITA1_1.vmdk

is it possible one of your datastores is unmounted?

if not your snapshots maybe corrupted.

Hi Bob ,

If your snapshot disk is corrupt then one of the way to minimize the dataloss is to point your disk to the base disk i,e.

In your datastores you will have below files for a disk

vmname.vmdk -- Base disk

vmname _00001.vmdk --- Snapshot disk .

If you remove the HDD and add an exsting HDD and select the base disk the you will be able to go back to the old disk but you will loose the data from the time you had taken the snapshot .

"Please note consider this as a last option as this involves dataloss"

Please give a thumbsup if this helps !

Thanks .

Do you mean to delete the hand disk 2 and then add the existing hard disk to point 0003 ot point to 0004?

because i have 0004

Hi Bob ,

If currently your HDD2 is pointed to 004 then please  delete the Hard Disk(***DO NOT SELECT THE DATA DELETE OPTION) and then add a HDD as an existing harddrive and choose 003 .

and if 003 is not working then try the lower number

Thanks

hi

Currently pointing to 0003 there are more than 200G but 0004 is only 1M

what does this mean

Size of the Snapshot disk depends on when it was created and how many changes have you done after the snapshot is taken .

When its pointed to 003 , is it working ? are you able to see the files ?

If not point it to 002 and check  and as I mentioned you will loose the data .

I'm still hesitating because it will lose data....

Is there any other way?

In addition, where is the data in the virtual machine stored?

I am currently worried that after the hard disk is deleted and rebuilt, the data in the virtual machine will disappear

Hi Bob ,

I have couple of questons . From the screenshot I see that you have 3 Hard Disks connected to the server .

_0.vmdk

_1.vmdk --This has a issue

_2.vmdk

1. Is your VM booting to the guest OS ?
2. If booting , are you able to see any data on the HDD_1 ?

3. I see snapshot files only for HDD_1 and other HDDs are working fine .

Thanks

你好

 虛擬機當前不可用

虛擬機中有C槽和D槽。這個主機是ERP主機,沒有任何備份,所以猶豫了這麼久。

Another option what you can try is to check if you see an consolidate option for this VM and consolidate it .

If you are really worried about the data loss, Please log a case with VMware and check . If you do not have support
