Almir,

Based on your post, I assume you do not have an active VCP certificate.  Therefore, you probably have to follow the following path:

1: Gain experience with vSphere 6.5 (minimum 6 months recommended).

2: Attend one of the required training courses.

3: Pass the vSphere 6 Foundations Exam or vSphere 6.5 Foundations Exam.

4: Pass the VMware Certified Professional 6.5 – Data Center Virtualization Exam.

This will be MUCH easier with actual hands-on experience with the components of vSphere 6.5 (and basically impossible without).  You should balance your "book study" with VMware HOL and a home lab, if you are able.  If your employer offers a test lab, take advantage of that as much as is allowed (it will benefit them as well as yourself).  There are currently no books on vSphere 6.5 that can help with the test; but there is much data on the VMware website.  Knowing where to find things is very important.

Consider VMUG Advantage.  For about $200 per year (there may be discounts available), there are a lot of advantages including discounts on training and tests, evaluation software, and access to some very bright people.

If you are willing to start with VCP6-DCV instead of VCP6.5-DCV, consider the VMware IT Academy courses such as those taught by Stanly Community College.  The courses are much less expensive than those offered at standard venues (as low as $185.00 vs. $4,500.00 for the vSphere 6.0 ISM class).

Best wishes on your certification.

vSphere 5 training doesn't "count" towards VCP6.5-DCV, but it does "count" towards VCP6-DCV.

See path 2 here: VCP6-DCV Certification

You have the option of taking a What's New class rather than the longer and more expensive Install Configure Manage class.

Assuming you take that option as per path 2, you could then use your VCP6-DCV to help you achieve VCP6.5-DCV.
