VMC Prerequisites

Hi, do I need to run the full VMware SDDC stack on prem (vSphere, NSX, vSAN) to be able to connect my on prem environment to VMware Cloud on AWS or is it possible to connect with traditional three tier architecture & vSphere?

Thanks in advance!

Ian

No. You do not need NSX or vSAN to be able to connect to VMware Cloud on AWS.

Hi I had seen the document you mentioned however I only skimmed through the info and couldn't find what I was looking for.  Having read it again (properly this time) I can see there is a networking section which covers connectivity and there's no mention of a requirement for NSX on prem, only IPSec VPN or AWS Direct Connect between on prem & VMC SDDC so that answers my questioon.

Thanks for the info,

Ian
