vdr 1 or 2?

The vdr appliance 2 that came out with version 5 is listed in the compatabilty matrix not to work with esxi 4.1.

However i have saw a video on vdr 2 how to running on 4.1 by Eric Sloof (pretty smart guy) http://youtu.be/f4pq5vPa6zw

I may be not understanding things well. can someone clafify will it run on 4.1

It should run on the following versions so this means the below esx versions will be supported for VDR 2.0. It is better to go in the supported way.

VMware Data Recovery 2.0 can be used with:

• VMware vSphere 5.0
• VMware vSphere 4.1 Update 1
• VMware vSphere 4.0 Update 3
