vSphere and Site Recovery manager support

i recently read somewhere that the release of vSphere will of course be available with vCenter for basic management and automation tasks but the rest of VMware's great product suite is not supported in the initial release of vSphere.

So there won't be support for:

  • VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager

Can someone please confirm when SRM will be supported by vSphere.

its looks like every timne there a ESX update we have to wait for a couple of months to get an SRM updat ..this is not really adequate.

I remember we did not go with SRM cause we had 3.5Update 2 cause no support by SRM1 although supported by SRM1.0 .update1 eventually

really vmware should be updating both around the same time ...makes upgrading a bit messy....

while i generally agree with your comment, VMware are no different at this game than any other vendor (Microsoft, anyone?)

there are a lot od different products coming out this and next year..

so if you are on the bleeding edge, you need to take these things into account
