vSphere Data Protection added 7 virtual disk

Hi, we deploy vSphere Data Protection from OVF template, after completion we found 7 virtual disk listed in the vm properties with 1x100GB disk and 6x256GB disk, we just couldn't understand why the template gave us 7 disk, a google search didn't really give us any clue either.

Few might have space limitations. This is for flexibility.

Disks other than the 1st one are data disks and you have flexibility to migrate them to different datastores after deployment.

You might have deployed 1TB appliance.

The space on disk for a 1TB appliance is 1600GB (100+6*256) approximately.

Thank you snekkalapudi but I'm wondering why can't we just have 1TB disk instead

Thank you snekkalapudi for answering the question, also can data disk reside on seperate data store? Like disk 2-4 at ds1 and 5-7 at ds2?
