vSphere Data Protection 5.8 - email report

Hi,

Since i updated to vSphere Data Protection 5.8 the email with the backup report comes completely unformatted, ex:

vdp_email_report_5.8.jpg

This is how it was on 5.5 and previous:

vdp_email_report_5.5.jpg

Anyone with the same problem? Any fix?

As far as I can see it depends on the client device. I also don't see the body of the VDP-e-mail on my SmartPhone, but I can see it on my Exchange account. So maybe there is a problem on the client IOS.

I'm getting an e-mail with an attachment named vdpEmailReport.csv which looks like yours, and the e-mail itself has a very similar content than the older versions.

So it's no problem, only more information than before due to the additional .csv attachment.

I'ts not a question of more information, the problem is that the information doesn't come formatted as it did before, it's a lot more hard to read.

As I said before, I'm getting the same e-mail as in the previous versions (same formatted), and additional an attachment in the unformatted style.

It seems that you only see the attachment and not the e-mail itself.

Ok, sorry i didn't understood you said that at first.

Maybe something went wrong with my upgrade or maybe is my mail server.

Did you upgraded from 5.5 or new installation?

Yes, just tried to read the email on my webmail and it has the correct format, also on outlook.

So the problem is my thunderbird Smiley Sad

I have had the same problem, you can bypass this (until vmware maybe decides to leave the .csv away) by using a thunderbird addon called 'show all body parts'
