vDR not connecting via vSphere Client

Hey All,

I'm trying ot setup a vDR Appliance and it seemed staright forward, but I've been stuck for almost a week now and this needs to get resolved.

So the problem is, after I deploy the OVF and I try to connect from Home -> VMware Data Recovery -> Name, IP Address or DNS Name: _____ Connect

I hit connect and it immediately comes back (almost instantly) 'not connected' like it didn't even try.

I have scoured other documents on problem with vDR.

I have all ports open, I can ping back an forth between the vCenter and vDR appliance. I can telnet to 22024 and see the connection

tcp        0      0 0.0.0.0:22024               0.0.0.0:*                   LISTEN      2653/datarecovery
tcp        0      0 216.25.37.222:22024         66.223.56.245:57834         ESTABLISHED 2653/datarecovery

I can telnet to port 902 on each of the hosts.

telnet 216.25.37.149 902
Trying 216.25.37.149...
Connected to 216.25.37.149.
Escape character is '^]'.
220 VMware Authentication Daemon Version 1.10: SSL Required, ServerDaemonProtocol:SOAP, MKSDisplayProtocol:VNC , VMXARGS supported

The web service works on 5480

I even followed some instructions about having to do th registration from and XP or 2003 machine becuase of issues with Vista/7 Workstations.

I've turned on logging on the vDR

cat datarecovery.ini
SetVCBLogging=6

Though I'm unsure what I'm looking for. I was about to escalate to Vmware Support but thought maybe someone here may be able to shed some light.

Thanks

It turns out, that the problem was quite discrete, A previous administrator had removed the administrator role form the database. Therefore the vDR appliance itself had no permissions via vCenter.
