I have a client that has an ESX environment that is attached to DS3000 SAS attached storage. I have been told it should be possible to add a SAS card to our Media Agent and have the VMFS Luns shared to the Media Agent. If this goes ahead will I be able to configure vADP backups the same way as I do for other environments that use Fibre or iSCSI SANs? Or will I need to set specific settings on the storage or other components? Or is this simply not supported and/or possible???
