new bacakup software, ESXi new version and VM tools/version and vm hardware compatibility

Hi All,

I am notice quite a lot time that having backup issues when vsphere update or backup software upgrade to new version.

just simply need to know that do we need to update vm hardware version after vsphere version or backup software update? due to created new VMs and one version down VMs are always backup success, those are old vms has issue will come slow one by one. Please advise and help.

Hi, may I know which backup software you are using? If this issue continues, I think maybe it's better to consider switching to another solution for easy backup... Vinchin backup is what I've been using for vmware backup, and it never gets me stuck on such hardware compatibility issue. It works quite well to protect vsphere 4.x and all the later versions, maybe you can give it a go.
