Please review KB Migrating VMware vSphere Data Protection (VDP) 5.8 and 6.0 to version 6.1 with the VDP 6.1 Import Export utility (2127665). As far as migrating the slab files from one datastore to another, I would not recommend on doing this as I'm sure there are some restore points information in the VDP appliance that may stop working when the datastore information is changed from one location to another.
