client drivers missing after restoring a vm from vdr

Hello,

i noticed after restoring a vm (Windows 2008R2), in the vm the vmware specific drivers (including nic) are missing.

They are shown under device manager with the yellow mark and I was not able to detect them via device manager.

I also tried to re-install vmware tools, but that did not work either (install hung or vm booted into recovery mode after restart)

I tried another vm and there all was OK (detectet nic on startup)

All nic are vmxnet3 but tried the other options also, as well as deleting/readding nic to the vm.

Maybe it could have to do something with the fact, that the fist vm is a cloned vm?

regards

Does this issue happen to one specific vm??

It was the first one I tested it with, so far all others I tested worked.

So I am still trying to figure out a regularity.

The vm where it is not working is a terminalserver with XenApp, there are 3 identical ones in the farm so I will try another one.

It should not matter what application are used inside the vm, still try on some other vm...
