I am working on a backup recovery product.
I want to understand, the UUID assigned to each virtual disks in A VM, can it be change or it will always be unique within the VM?
This is required for me to restore the disk, while i am backing up the disk, noting down this disk UUID and then during restore, looking for same disk with UUID. am i doing correctly?
I know that for physixal RDM, it will be a lunUUID. same question for this as will, These both disk UUID or lunUUID will get change after vmotion or by any action in vsphere or storage array change.
