Virtual Machine stop responding while taking the snapshot (vSphere 6.7.0.40000)

Hi All,

While taking the snapshot of the virtual machines, VM's stop responding and even the ping response stop. The backup was working fine but after upgrading from version 6.0 to 6.7 suddenly the snapshot has become an issue? Trying to even search on the internet on the same but not able to get appropriate answer

These can be difficult to troubleshoot. I'd recommend opening a case with VMware support.

this can occur when you are taking a squieszed  snapshot when the vm has large memory - but only for seconds. but if your storage performance is poor it can take a bit longer

Thanks for responding, but if it's about the storage performance why it's happening only with some of the VM's and not with all the VM's?

as i wrote it also depends on the memory of the vm. if the vm has for example 32GB mem then it writes 32GB memory dump to disk.

so have a look if only great vms are involved
