Vdp replication question

Hello.

Anyone using replication here ? I'm thinking about replication to to other location, we have VDP 6.1 (not advanced), and, according to docs, there is still a product called  RTI (Replication Target), available only in version 5.8, that does not need an additional license. Could I install free ESXi on remote location, install that RTI and use replication ?

No, free ESXi cannot host VDP or VDP-RT

You would require Essentials+ or higher license to deploy and configure VDP. The only difference being is, 5.8 RT does not have any license on it's own like Advanced. But would still be dependent on the underlying host license.
