Hi,
In the VMware Data Recovery Administration Guide it states that VDR can run up to 8 concurrent backup jobs at a time.
Does anyone know if this number is considered by each VDR appliance or by vCenter Server instance ?
The student guide for the ICM4.1 class says that I can have up to 10 appliances per vCenter, so if this limit is by appliance I could have up to 80 concurrent jobs running per vCenter . Is it possible ?
Thanks.
Marcos

Follow Maximum of VMware Data recovery:
Maximum 100 VMs backed up per appliance
Maximum 2 de-duplication stores per appliance
No more than one appliance per vCenter Server supported
Cannot reside in vApp
Multiple appliances are independent and do not interact
Storage
Disk only – no tape/media integration
Maximum of 1TB per de-duplication store
Backups
Maximum 8 concurrent backup and 8 concurrent restore jobs
One backup per VM allowed every 24 hours
Appliance vCPU usage must be under 80%
Hi Mauro,
Thanks for your answer, but do you have already tested these limits ?
The information describing just one appliance per vCenter is what is writen in the DR Admin. Guide, but according to the ICM4.1 Student Guide it states that each vCenter can support up to 10 appliances and this is also an official document from VMware.
Do you have already tried or know someone who have tested to put more than one appliance per vCenter and it did not work ?
I think this is the only way to be sure of the correct answer once there is a divergence of information in the documents.
Regards.

This is a OFFICIAL supports, if supports more than official, become unOFFICIAL....
entendeu ?
aahahah

Mauro,
O problema é que existem 2 documentos oficiais da VMware (Admin. Guide e Student Guide) com informações oficialmente diferentes !
Qual deles é mais oficial ??? kkkk

Hi
We are running two DRM appliances and it works without problem.
The problem we have is a problem that we had also with just one. It seems to shut down sometimes and then there becomes damaged restore points that we need to delete.
The biggest problem is that there is no function for letting us know when there is problem. When it works it works so good that we don´t look for problem avery day and when it suddenly fails we have no backups for a couple of days, or a week!
