VMware Data Recovery 1.2 / VM guest resources

I am having a few issues with VMware DR in the sense that some machines back up very quickly, others take a very very long time. My main concern / problem is one machine can take up to 8-9 hours to back up and take 8-9 hours to delete the snapshot when it's finally done. The BIGGEST concern is while the snapshot is deleting on this one particular server, the resources spike and the server is very slow to just down right unresponsive. I'm not sure if my problem is a combination of things. My backup target is a 4TB iomega "nas" on a RAID 1. Which I'm sure backing up 8 servers to it is very slow on disk I/O. I am trying to get my hands on a drobo to test so that I have more spindles to write to. I figure 8 disks is better then 1. Any insight on VMware DR handles snapshots and why the VM resources go to pot once the snapshots start deleting would be helpful.

May be this articel will help you in understanding your snapshot problem.

I'm sure you will need more spindels for your backup.
