VDR - file level recovery

Hi friends,

I would be thankful if anyone can clear me.

I know that there is an option to restore file level recovery for windows & linux machines in VDR. But iam not clear how can i do that.

While performing a restore on VDR i can see only option to select a vmdk file from a VM. How can i restore a single file from the VDR backps.

Thanks in Advance.

It's a simple exec file.

You can copy in the VM where you want to do file recovery (it does not require an installation) and lunch them... then follow the wizard.

You can also run from another system, but in this case you must authenticate to be able to perform a restore.

In the VDR ISO you have also the two utility for Win and Lin to perform file level restore.

Does it requeres any conditions to do that.

for example, do we need to have snapshots enabled on that VM or we need to install this utility in windows or linux machines ??

Much appreciated if can show any links or docs.

Thanks in Advance.
