VDP will not backup Server 2008 R2 - lots of errors

I just downloaded and installed new newest version of VDP on Vsphere 5.1. I had it back up two linux VMs....no probem. I then tried to have  it back up a Windows 2008 R2 VM (twice)....both times it failed.

Vecenter recorded this error:

Description,Type,Date Time,Task,Target,User

The event viewer of the Windows VM has tons of errors all bunched together.

Never mind, I found this (known issue affecting vSphere Data Protection 5.1).

To work around this issue, configure disk.EnableUUID to false.

To configure disk.EnableUUID using the vSphere Web Client:

Right-click the virtual machine and click Shut Down Guest OS.
Right-dick the virtual machine and click Edit Settings.
    Click VM Options.
Expand the Advanced section and click Edit Configuration.
Locate the disk.EnableUUId parameter and set the value to false.
    Click OK.
    Click OK.
Right-click the virtual machine and click Power On.

note that if you stop there you'll get crash consistent backups but not application consistent ones. You'll find a thread or two in here with steps to application consistent backups including one by me with pre-freeze scripts for diskshadow which is native to 2008R2.
