VDP keep perform full backup of some VMs

Hi,

I am using VDP5.5.6 version.

I find that the VDP always perform full backup on some of the VMs especial VMs with large disk size. I tried to backup the VM again just after it completed but the task is still (F).

Everytime, the full backup take over 20hr and I really don't know why there are only Full backup.

Anyone has the same problem?

Karl

There might be 2 reasons...I know of 1- Change rate on the VM is more thatn 35% - In this case VDP always performs a FULL backup instead on INC 2-VDP unable to get the Change Blocked ID       - VM HW version should be 7 and above (CBT which helps to performs INC backup is available with HW 7 and above)       - If VM is migrated to another datastore, it loses track of change block ID and so the subsequent backup will turn out to be a FULL
