VDP backup tasks do not stop at the end of the backup window

Hello everyone,

I'm using vdp to backup 130 VMs (distributed on 5 esxi hosts)

I've set up a backup job : all the VM on the cluster are backed up every sunday.

the backup window is the one used by default : 8:00 PM to 8:00 AM.

The problem is that the backup job did not stop a 8 AM... (actually, it's still running currently) :

The appliance is running very slowly (the dedup operations I think) and it appears "not connected" in the vcenter. I tried to reconnect it but it fails.

by the way, the web interface is VERY slow.

did someone encounter such issues? did I understand something wrong?

Hello -

Were you running your initial backup for these VMs? 

When doing initial backups, the standard configuration is that the backup will continue until the backup job completes successfully.

After the initial backup has run, then the backups should only run during the backup window.
