Are these your initial backups for a particular client? If so, then it is possible that the appliance is allowing 'overtime' for the level 0 backup to complete. This is the default functionality until the initial level 0 backup for each client is complete.
Second question would be, are you seeing that the backup jobs are not ending based on the tasks in the vCenter?
I have seen issues where the connection between the VDP appliance and the vCenter drops and VDP fails to update the tasks and events for the backup jobs, yet the backups actually did finish.
If you are running into the second issue, check your Restore tab and see if the restore points are created from the backup jobs. If so, then you can either delete the tasks from VC or sometimes restarting the VC Web Client service is required for it to clear the tasks if they cannot be deleted.
