VDP & EMC Data Domain integration

Hi,

I would like to know when I am backing up to a Data Domain with VDP 6, what happens if I loose my VDP VM?

Could I create a new VDP, configure it to use the same Data Domain and access the backups?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, backup data/restore points can be accessed by a new VDP appliance, but backup jobs and replication jobs would need to be recreated. I think this is discussed in VDP admin guide. If not, search for VDP Advanced Data Domain paper - it refers to VDP Advanced which was rolled into VDP 6.x so the info is still applicable.

Thanks! I will try to test it on lab and be sure we can recover on our remote CPD.

Thanks again
