VDP 6.1.3 running on Vsphere 6.0 update 3 showing in admin state even after redeploying the VDP

Hi,

I am facing VDP in admin state issue. I tried reinstalling the VDP. Moving the VDP OS disk to VMFS.

Using the NFS for data disk.

Engaged the VMware, now they have escalated to EMC and we are waiting for their response. Can anyone help me on this.

Thanks.

Thanks for your suggestion howerver, we tried it many time.

Today, we have got it resolved . As you said, issue was with corrupted partition size.

One data01 disk was showing wrong size.

Hi There,

If I am getting you right, you have a redeployed version of VDP which was on VMFS as well later SVmotioned to NFS storage

And the VDP state is admin.

When you redeployed did you do with existing data disks or was it fresh deployment.

I would need output of:

# dpnctl status all

# status.dpn

# mccli server show-prop

# cplist

Is the GSAN degraded? Is the VDP constantly flipping back to admin? Are any data partitions gone bad?
If you have logs for the VMware ticket, provide the case number too here.

Hi,

GSAN is showing degraded. However, all VDP core services are showing in started mode in configuration page.

MCCLI server show-prop    showing VDP in Admin state.

Manually run the integrity check, datastore performance analysis but no luck.

IC will not work if GSAN is degraded. What if you gracefully shutdown GSAN and resume it back?

# dpncl stop gsan

# dpnctl start gsan

Is the GSAN switching between running and degraded or always in degraded.
Please provide the output of cplist, and # dumpmaintlogs --types=cp --days=14 | grep -i "<4"

Ah, did you expand storage?
In few scenarios I have seen XFS partition does not grow.

You can run xfs_growfs. Here's my document on this:
