  • 1.  VCB restore problems

    Hello! I try to restore VM through VCB.

    I have COS. I have Linux share which I mount to this COS and restore there this VM from Tape Library by Data Protector. But I have problems to restore it.

    This is printscreen with error

    I try to restore both to vCenter and to host, but no luck.

    Hello,

    Welcome to the forums your post has been moved to the vSphere Backup and Recovery forum.

    In general you restore using vcbRestore from the proxy server not from the COS if you restore to the Cos you can just copy the files to the appropriate datastore instead of using VCB to do the work. Then register the VM. So in this case, copy and register the VM should be sufficient. Also use 'scp' not 'cp' to do the copy else you could risk loosing data from the VMDK.
