VCB configuration woes

Hi all,

I'm trying to set up VCB to run in NBD mode to backup some VMs using BE 2010. I have run through the VCB installation docs and carried out all steps relating to the configuration I'm using.

Backup jobs do not run correctly in BE - I'm able to mount the VM snapshots in a cmd window using vcbmounter with the relevant arguments but running pre-backup.bat just pauses briefly and then returns to the prompt - no error, no log, nothing to go on.

I've configured config.js to reflect my setup but this doesn't seem to have had the wanted effect, nothing I change seems to effect the outcome. Would be grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction!

edit: to be clear, the BE job fails with the error "pre backup job failed to complete successfully" and when I run the pre-backup.bat in a command window, it behaves as mentioned in the post above.
