VCB 1.5 update 1 for Vsphere

hi guys

I have to install VCB 1.5 update 1 for a Vsphere Environment - it's going to be my first installation -

I want to know 2 things

1. Can I follow this to install VCB 1.5u1 for Vsphere and Virtual Center 4?

Step 5, does not mention anything for VC 4?

Create a user to execute the backups.

2. it looks like my customer won't be using any 3 party tool with VCB someone knows/has tested if vcbMC-1.0.7 Lite version works with Vsphere? or it's only compatible with 3.5?

thanks a lot

HI,

You can use that guide, that are the steps to get the VCB working.

for Vsphere VC, follow the same steps in the guide

I Think vcbMC will run ok, i will test tomorrow and tell you.

You can use vcb without 3party software, just run vcbmounter (is in the VCB directory) with the parameters in order to take a backup for a VM.

Make a script from that, and every will be fine

I wrote a "Proven Practice Guide" a while back that applies to VI4 as well. It may help ->

Careful. We don't want to learn from this.

I wrote a script to backup my VM using VCB. Just launch the script with an account that has the VCB backup rights in vCenter and tell it the name of the VM from vCenter.
