Why oh why would transfer speed be significantly less for full jobs than incrementals?
I'm talking about the difference between 2MB/s and 15MB/s
I have a 2 vSphere 5.0 datacenters, separated by 1200 miles, connected by a PTP VPN.
Location 1: Source: Bandwidth confirmed at 35/35
Location 2: Destination: Bandwidth confirmed at 20/20
Server 1: Backups got screwed up. Started over, needed to kick off a full from Location 1 to Location 2. It fails constantly, for 2 weeks, running between 1MB-3mb/s. Misery
Incremental Backups of Server 1 run to a local repository at decent speed, no problem.
Incrementals of other servers continue to run from Location 1 to Location 2 at 15MB/s. All job settings look the same as Server 1.
Backups run from Location 2 to Location 1 with no problem.
I'm certainly not a VM Expert but I'm familiar with basics. Confirmed Bandwidth is ok with the ISP, confirmed with our Firewall that we aren't even paying for services that would throttle traffic in any way.
Throttling is turned off on Veeam Backup and Restore on both sides.
What gives? Any ideas?
