both is capable of using VADP integration from vSphere and have being equally good. what i would suggest is to try both and see which provide ease of us as well as support experience ..

There isn't a software that is really best then another.

The API are the same, the implementation maybe not.

I suggest to use the software that you know better.

Hi,

I'm having Backup Exec-SCRAP product... It's not good at all when it comes to VMs Backup. You can backup small VMs but if you have a big VMDK file, feel the pain of snapshots being left unremoved and backup failure.

Since I have restructured my VMs and SAN, I always implement the best practices that I found them works for me very well. Which is, I keep the C:\ 24 gig only for OS or small disk for Linux or other OS's... they resides on different LUN. I use Veeam for the VMs operation and I use Backup Exec-SCRAP product for file level only from VMs such as file servers, Exchange DB, SQL which they resides on different VMDK on different LUNs..

I stop using backup Exec to backup VMs.

Hope it helps....
