I've recently installed my first VDP appliance (5.5.6) on vCenter 5.5U1 and set up a backup job for about 35 virtual servers. When I run the job several tasks are created and viewable under the Tasks pane in the vSphere Web Client. The Backup/Restore VM tasks are of interest to me since they show the progress of each backup job. As I scroll through the pane looking at the tasks the screen refreshes and sends me back to the first line. I understand a lot of people wanted auto refresh in the Web Client but this is making a frustrating experience. Any way to turn it off so I can get through the pane and get the information that I need? I think I recall the thick client having a drop down menu at the top with some way to turn it off. Please help.
Thanks, Shane

Hi,
I have the same problem with vSphere Web Client 5.1. When i filter results in Tasks, its deleted after a refresh and im transfered to the first line of the task.
We are waiting reply.
thank you.
I am seeing the same in 5.5 U1b. I really noticed it watching the Active Tasks and they would show up for a second, then I see the refresh button across the top change to the in progress icon and when it finished the Active Task list was empty. If I change the view from My Tasks to All Users Tasks they come back until the auto refresh happens. I've tried multiple browsers, multiple OS, seems server side. I have seen an article about enabling the auto refresh so I assume it can be reversed but I would rather just have it all work correctly if you know what I mean.
As an update to my post, this definitely seems to be related to VDP. When no VDP jobs are running, my task lists stay set and visible. When a VDP task is running and the auto refresh kicks off, the small task list goes blank and the Tasks console resets the view (filters, sort order) and returns to the top row. Pretty annoying...
