Restore physical server to virtual machine using Data Protector 6.1

Is it possible to restore a physical server to virtual machine from the tape. Backup of the physical server is made by Data Protector 6.1.

Are there any procedures documented anywhere?

ALL backup systems work pretty much the same.

You need an agent on the system to restore / backup.

You need some sort of base OS to restore data/files.

So the procedure would simply be backup the physical server to tape. Point the backup server to the VM, and restore, it's pretty straight forward.

Thanks for the reply, but isnt the hardware going to be so different that we're going to run into device driver problems?
