Panic, delete backup VM with vmdk disk of the Principal installation

Thanks for your attention. I read a lot of post, but i don't find a solution for my problem.

I do a big mistake.. i have vmware esxi 6.5 on my server.. i try some configuration with a copy of my VM.

After some test i decided to remove the copy of my VM... but i have 2 disk vmdk, 1 is a copy but the second is the original (yes, it's a test error), i delete the VM test, but the system delete the vmdk file of my original system.

There's a guide or... i don't know system to undelete this file.

Thanks a lot for your time.

Fabrizio.

You'll find the contact information in his profile.

I found a solution with my hand.

Simply explain:

Copy in an other disk with DD the disk for the data you need to recover.. i have 100Gb of data... and i copy 120GB.

Take this file and open with UFS exploder standard recovery

That's it!

In my first test i use 100Gb and i found file with the structure of 1 year ago...

Now i try to recover more data... i hope 1TB it's ok.

Stay tuned..

Apparently not, so you'll either have to just give it up, come up with some backup, or keep hacking at it. Lessons like these can be powerful and painful to learn. Have backups. Always.
