Open Files, databases

Hi,

i only wanted to ask you about backing up open files like database ;(SQL , Pervasive...)

We are using here VMWare Image Backup. I read about the open files, that this should work, but nothing about databases.

Does it work, can i backup them while they are in use?

best regards and thanks for your answer

You can use a backup product with VSS support.

Or use VCB with quiescence script.

Hi Morpheous,

Does this means if theVM is Windows Vm with VMWare tools installed, those vss-aware application can be backed up without having agent specific installed on each VM ?

Kind Regards,

AWT
