Move snapshot files to a different datastore?

Greetings! We have a client that has very limited bandwidth to replicate their data between data centers. Purchasing additional bandwidth is a challenge due to the location of primary and secondary infrastructure. They are asking us if it would be recommended (and if there would be any issues as a result of ) to move snapshot delta files to another, non-replicated datastore, as they only maintain snapshots when actively patching and then immediately commit them. They are using SRM along with SAN-based replication. We know that redirecting snapshot delta files is possible, however, were not immediately certain if it would break anything with remote site recovery with SRM. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

It is possible, but take in mind that while the is running from snapshot store on a non-replicated datastore, the virtual machine will be in unprotected state on SRM. Another option is move the .vswp files to a non-replicated datastore, that will save more bandwidth than the snapshots: Specify a Nonreplicated Datastore for Swap Files
