I have a centralized datacenter and I have begun deploying vdr servers to some of our remote sites to give them a faster way to restore in case something bad happens. Every night the VDR backs up the entire site and then it just sits all day until the backup kicks off again at night. The problem is when the VDR appliance is idle, the vcenter server is constantly communicating with it. Some days we are talking over a 1GB of data.
Anyone else having this problem, and does anyone know why the vcenter server needs to talk to the VDR server so much?
