Vmware performs File consistent /application aware[ application consistent ] backup using Windows Volume shadow copy API( VSS ). But Vmware takes "COPY" only snapshots on particular windows machine. [that is, it passes backup type "VSS_BT_COPY" to all vss writers available in the GUEST OS ]. So, the application like MS Exchange, SQL does not perform log truncation on guest machine. My questions is that
Is there any options or config file available to pass VSS backup type "VSS_BT_FULL"[FULL backup ] instead of "VSS_BT_COPY" supplied by VMware during Application quiescing ?
