As has been said, there's some configuration you need to do on the NFS box - ensure you've got a published NFS share with a suitable identity (read/write access) and you can then add it as a datastore to your host. Once added, you can then connect to it from the VDR appliance by selecting the Network Share option - note that you'll have to supply the identity for the NFS share.
You'll have to supply the following on the "Add Storage" dialog:
- IP address or host name in the Server field
- Folder name in the Folder field - this should be the share name, e.g. "/MyShare" - note the leading slash character
- Datastore name
Also note that the maximum size for a VDR datastore should be 500GB (you'll probably see a warning message stating this) as, apparently, you may run into performance issues.
Hope that helps!
Thanks every one for your suggestion.
Can any body provide me any step by step document for this configuration. i.e creation of NFS on linux box and mount that share on multiple esx server.

Thanks for your Answer.
would this nfs mount point need to be mount on all esx server after adding the ip address to.
/mnt/share 192.168.0.1/255.255.255.255(rw,no_root_squash,sync)
/mnt/share 192.168.0.2/255.255.255.255(rw,no_root_squash,sync)
/mnt/share 192.168.0.3/255.255.255.255(rw,no_root_squash,sync)
Sould be like this in original.
please provide your confirmation

It only needs to be added to VDR
The NFS mount only needs to be available on the host that has the VDR appliance. Once mounted you need to create a large enough vmdk to contain your backups.
