Hi,

My setup is that, currently i have 5 physical host (esxi 4.1) and i will take the backup using vmware datarecovery. my environment works fine. i deploy vcenter as a vm and also take the backup via VDR applicance. now i am little bit confused, if my vcenter vm is crash how i recover it, because VDR is integrated with vcenter. any solution regarding this?

If VC goes down

Install the VDR plugin on the system from where you are goping to do VI client to the hosts

once plugin is installed  conenct to the host directly on which the VDR appliance is up and running, rest are the steps which you do normally from VC.
