As far as I can see, there is no way to make vSphere Data Protection appliance to obtain network address using DHCP. And it's annoying because network admin should have access to vDP instance to change the address.
Is there a way to change IP address without granting access to vDP appliance to network administrator?
The VDP Appliance does not support DHCP. A static IP address is required. The IP address of the VDP appliance can be changed using the VDP Configure UI where you log in with the root credentials that were configured when the appliance was first deployed.
